Hyundai Genesis receives highest safety score in ANCAP history, and it is on it's way here!

Genesis, Hyundai New Zealand’s new flagship luxury sedan, has achieved the highest score in the 21-year history of ANCAP testing – 36.88 points out of a possible 37 and a maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

A 5 star safety rating is ANCAP’s ultimate measure of vehicle safety protection for occupants and pedestrians. The demanding assessment includes a 64km/h frontal offset test and a 50km/h side impact test, along with a 29km/h pole test, a whiplash test simulating a 32km/h rear-end crash, and a 40km/h pedestrian impact protection test. A minimum number of active safety assist technologies (SATs) is also required.

The Genesis’ tally of 36.88 points includes a frontal offset score of 15.88 out of 16 and a side impact protection score of 16 out of 16. Genesis also scored 2 out of 2 in the pole test and a whiplash protection test rating of ‘good’.

Structural integrity and strength has been a key priority of Hyundai Motor Company’s engineering teams since development of the new ‘DH’ model Genesis sedan began six years ago. The vehicle uses advanced high-strength steel throughout its body structure, and has been designed from the outset to pass the world’s most demanding crash tests.

Bowater Hyundai celebrates the Nelson and the Cricket World Cup

Chris Bowater and the team from Bowater Hyundai getting into the swing of the Nelson!

The 2015 Hyundai sponsored ICC Cricket World Cup is coming to Nelson next year, and to celebrate that it is just 111 days away, the Nelson City Council and Bowater Hyundai got together and planned a way to get excited, and raise some awareness, for this world class event happening in our backyard this summer.

The Nelson City Council has placed the official Cricket World Cup Display Ball and Countdown timer in the front window of the Bowater Hyundai showroom. The Bowater Hyundai team are pretty excited about this and all got in on the act when asked to get together to celebrate the 111 days to go, with an impromtu application of one of crickets least understood traditions, the Nelson!

The explaination is best left to an expert!
Check out the video that the NCC made of the day, including the stop off at Bowater Hyundai.

Someone will win an i20 this summer with Ray White and Bowater Hyundai

hyundai i20
The Hyundai i20 - a fantastic small car that delivers the best of Hyundai all distilled into a small package.

The Hyundai i20 is a very handy, and desirable, small car. Perfect for zipping around town or for those that really dont need to be paying to move a larger vehicle or SUV around just for the sake of it. The smaller and lighter the car, the less energy it takes to move it. Simple maths really.

This summer we have teamed up with the real estate masters at Ray White Richmond and the prize - you guessed it, a brand new hyundai i20!

Someone has to win this great little car. And all you have to do is sell your house!
Sounds a little extreme.
Not really, let us explain.
